From Bump to Baby – Why Documenting Your Journey Matters

You blink and it changes.

The bump becomes a baby, the kicks become cuddles, and before you know it, your newborn is smiling up at you. These fleeting moments deserve to be remembered—not just in your mind, but in the kind of photographs that take you back there every time.

For Craig and Rose, this journey from bump to baby was so full of love, intention, and connection—and I had the absolute honour of documenting it all.

The Bump – Dreaming, Planning, Glowing

Rose came to her maternity session with a clear vision and so much excitement. She’d pulled together a Pinterest board, and we shared a bunch of back-and-forth chats to bring her ideas to life.

By the time the session rolled around, we were totally in sync with what she wanted to create. We played with multiple looks, changed things up, and had so much fun making it personal to them.

The glow was real. The anticipation? Tangible. There’s something really special about seeing a couple on the edge of such a huge life shift—excited, emotional, completely in love.

The Baby – Warm, Real, Home

A few weeks later, I was welcomed into their home to meet baby Hudson. The kind of session where we could slow down, make a cuppa, and just chat before picking up the camera.

We talked about how life had changed, how they were settling in as a new family of three, and the stories from those first wild, beautiful weeks.

It was freezing outside, but inside, Hudson was warm and snuggly—wrapped up in that new baby bubble. We kept things super relaxed, capturing the little in-between moments: his sleepy stretches, the way Craig held him so gently, the calm in Rose’s eyes as she watched them both.

I think I was there for about an hour and a half, but it felt like time stood still.
