A Beachy Afternoon with the Pace Family

There’s just something about family sessions at the beach, isn’t there? Bare feet in the sand, salty breeze whipping through hair, kids running wild and free, it’s like instant magic.

This was actually my second time capturing the Pace family. The first was back when they were still in Victoria, and now here they are, soaking up their new life in sunny Queensland. Honestly, it felt so special to reconnect and see how the girls have grown (spoiler: way too fast!).

The crew showed up ready to soak it all in. The girls were full of giggles and games (plus a cheeky twirl or two), Mum and Dad leaned right into the fun, and even their pup got his moment in front of the camera. Honestly, it felt less like “photos” and more like hanging out together while I tagged along with my camera.

We wandered, we laughed, we played. There were snuggly moments in the dunes, silly races along the shoreline, and plenty of those “yep, this is us” belly-laugh shots. And then, as the sun started dipping low, the whole sky turned soft and golden, the kind of light that makes everything feel a little more special.

What I love about this session is how real it feels. The Pace family didn’t try to be perfect. They were just themselves joyful, a little messy, deeply connected. And that’s what makes these photos keepers. The ones you’ll look back on years from now and think, “That was such a good season.”

So, here’s your gentle nudge: don’t wait for the “perfect” time to book family photos. The perfect time is right now, sandy toes and all. ♡
